So far the Teen Summer Reading programs is humming along nicely.
Having a movie license is giving us so much more flexibility with programming… or at least giving us more options. So this summer there will be several movies showing at the branches.
June 18: Hoot PG @ West Regional Library @ 2 pm
June 19: The Water Horse PG @ Hahnville Branch @ 10:30 am
June 20: Bridge to Terabithia PG @ Norco Branch @ 2 pm
June 27: I am Legend PG-13 @ St. Rose Branch @ 2 pm
Coming up in July are A Bug’s Life, The Golden Compass, Zathura, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen.
Notice anything about these titles? They all come from books… so we are promoting literacy while providing a fun way to beat the heat this summer.
Plus we are now the proud owners of a brand new Red Bar Style “Roosevelt” 8 Ounce Antique Popcorn Machine. It’s not an antique though… it’s brand new. And it will be delivering movie theater quality popcorn any moment now. We are test driving it today during a Wii program at West Regional.
