Clear your library fines and do some good!  November is Food for Fines month.  Celebrate Children’s Book Week by donating a non-perishable food item to clear your fines. Fines can be for overdue items or for accrued overdue charges. Please donate 1 item for up to $1.00 in fines. This doesn’t apply to lost items.

All food received will be donated to the St. Charles Parish Food Bank. They especially need small bags of rice, canned fruit, small cans of milk, cereals, small jars of jelly/jam, any kind of dried beans, grits and small cans of meats.

We will collect food November 1 – 30.

In celebration of Children’s Book Week we are sponsoring the Food for Fines program to conduct a food drive for the St. Charles Parish Food Bank.  For the month of November the Library will accept a food donation in lieu of money, so for every $1.00 worth of fines you can donate an item of food.

This year the Food Bank has asked for donations of canned milk, canned fruit, small bags of rice, cereals, grits, small jars of jelly or jam, small cans of meat, any type of dried beans, and any other non-perishable food items.  Our Food Bank is now in dire need, so please consider donating food as an alternative way to clear your fines.
